About / F.A.Q.
What is this?
Things Wrong With Me is a webcomic without much art. Take six good friends, in their 30s, who live in New York. Now record their conversations. That’s what Things Wrong With Me is. The lack of art is partly to draw attention to the words and partly, honestly, to let imagination run wild. The cast have expressions, but they are just talking heads. The rest is all in your mind – MUAHAHAHAHA… oh, sorry.
When does it update?
Every Tuesday and Thursday at roughly 12:01 A.M. EST.
Where does the strip take place?
The cast have their conversations in many places but most often they are in Cleopatra’s, a bar on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. If you’re really nice someday I’ll take you there. Hell, if I know you personally you probably know exactly where it is already.
Sometimes, though, conversations take place in other places. Here’s the basic rule of thumb: If they are getting drinks for each other, chances are they are sitting in Cleopatra’s. If not, well look for indicators, they will happen.
Really? They spend most their time in the same bar?
How many great bars do you need to be a regular at? One.
Do they age?
Ohhh tricky one you kooky fictional question asker! They do indeed. How this will be dealt with in the series (because yes this is a series) will be dealt with as we move forward. But they do age.
How long are updates?
They vary in length. Some might only be a page or two (a page being defined as a page in MS Word where the writing is done) and others could be 4 or possibly 5 pages. Really long conversations will be broken up into multi-part updates, because there is a point where these things get too long.
RSS and other feeds?
Well there is the RSS feed http://www.thingswrongwithme.com/feed/ you can use. There is also, if you are on LiveJournal, a user named Thingswrong that you can friend to get updates.
This isn’t a webcomic!
And that isn’t a question! But seriously, no it isn’t a webcomic as is traditionally defined. It is neither a 3 or 4 panel strip nor a full page of art comic. It is something different. But I am still using art and words to combine to tell a story (seriously, remove the heads and replace them with just names and it doesn’t work the same at all) so it is a comic. It is also on the web. Taa-daa!
Hey the comments make it look like…
Comments where everyone has an icon (Gravatar, if you don’t have one go get one) so that the comments slide down like an episode of the comic, making the comments somehow almost part of the thing? Yeah that was on purpose, thanks.
Who’s responsible for this comic?
Adam P. Knave is the creator and writer of Things Wrong With Me. Author of books such as CRAZY LITTLE THINGS and STRANGE ANGEL. He also finds time to write LEGEND OF THE BURRITO BLADE (a webcomic that updates every M/W/F), various comic book projects, be one of the editors of Image’s Popgun Anthology, and maintain a daily blog at adampknave.com where everything else from his brain is unleashed. He lives in NY with his cat and gave up sleep years ago.
Matteo Scalera is the artist who created each of the talking heads that Things Wrong With Me uses to express itself. A renowned and amazing graphic artist, Matteo’s comics can be found at his blog.
