You know, thinking about it, I don’t trust Glinda.

You know, the Good Witch?
But she’s the Good Witch!
Which is how she describes herself. We don’t hear other people say, “Hey, you seen Glinda? Man she sure is a good witch.” No, Glinda self-describes as good.
Well, true, but the munchkins…
Were under a different witch’s control just recently. You think they aren’t a bit Stockholm syndrome’d?
Huh. I never thought of it that way.

But once you mention it…

Right, and happens to land on this witch and set everything off. You know what would’ve helped the house go through without damage?
Magic.
The kind of magic that a supposed Good Witch might control.
Glinda has been fooling us all this time.
She’s like Kaiser Soze.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was making people think he was a kindly lion…
I always thought Glinda was a bit off. I mean, why not tell Dorothy, right at the outset, “Just click your heels together, and you’ll be home”? Nope. Instead, set up a confrontation that takes out your opposition while keeping your Good Witch hands clean. (I mean really – nobody wearing THAT much pink & sparkles should be trusted.)
Yeah it’s a bit fucked up, really.
Maybe she’s just one of those “Everything is allright as long as it’s for the greater good” kinda figures… Those are usually more scary than the actual evil ones :P
