I really think shoe design peaked with the Converse All-Star.
That’s it? That’s where good shoe design ends?
I think so.
Hmmm.
Think about it, they’re comfortable.
Lots of shoes are.
But really comfortable.
Lots of shoes are, though.
They’re so simple. Just some fabric and rubber.
No arch support.
Not everyone needs it.
But shock absorbers, and all those new tech stuff things in shoes!
Just ways to take your money.
They suck in the snow and cold.
Well…
They totally do! Your feet freeze! No protection! Just fabric!
Thicker socks?
Yeah, like that helps when they soak through.
Converse rock!
They do, they just aren’t the perfect shoe.
They are though.
So solve the cold problem, and the wet.
I could if I wanted to.
Uh-huh.
You don’t know.
I think I do. It’s all right for them to not be the best shoe ever.
I don’t know that it is. I mean what if the world rests on Converse saving all of us?
Then it had better be summer when they’re needed, is all I’m really saying.
They should make snow Cons.
Wouldn’t those be more complex and break the simplicity of the Converse in the first place?
But it would make you shush.
Is that more important than being right?
I’m right!
In a way that you’re totally wrong? Sure.
Woo! Right! I’m right!
You’re also insane.
But right!
