Mark There are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand.

Tashi In the universe?

Mark Stars, yes.

Happy Tashi No I meant grains of sand.

Mark What?

Tashi I have heard of this before, but always I have to wonder… do they meant grains of sand in the universe?

Mark No, grains of sand on Earth.

Tashi So? there are more grains of sand on the Earth than there are stars on the Earth, too.

Happy Mark Obviously.

Tashi Agreed. But how many grains of sand are there in the universe?

Mark Uhm. No clue.

Tashi So how do we know? In the grain sand versus stars battle, perhaps sand wins in the end.

Mark So you’re saying there are more grains of sand, in the universe, than there are stars, in the universe.

Happy Tashi I do not know! I am simply suggesting it is possible.

Mark Well, all right, sure, it’s possible. But who cares?

Happy Tashi Mark, dearling, who cares if there are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on Earth?

Mark It’s just a cool thing.

Tashi And is it not cool to think that there are more grains of sand, throughout the universe than there are even stars?

Mark I’m… not sure.

Angry Tashi It is cool!

Mark It’s less cool.

Tashi You have no vision. So here’s a question for you, are there more planets than sand?

Mark Where’s the sand?

Happy Tashi On Earth only.

Mark Uhm. Possibly! Not every star has planets but those that do tend to have more than one, so…

Happy Tashi That sounds even better. There are more planets in the universe than there are grains of sand.

Happy Mark That does sound pretty cool.

Tashi Of course those planets probably have sand…

Happy Mark All right! We agreed! More sand than anything.

Tashi The universe: More sand than anything.

Mark That’s sort of sad, really.

Happy Tashi No it isn’t! It means that above all else the universe is great with beach front property!

Mark I hadn’t thought of it like that.

Happy Tashi It’s what makes me a visionary.

Happy Mark It makes you something, all right.
