There are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand.
In the universe?
Stars, yes.
No I meant grains of sand.
What?
I have heard of this before, but always I have to wonder… do they meant grains of sand in the universe?
No, grains of sand on Earth.
So? there are more grains of sand on the Earth than there are stars on the Earth, too.
Obviously.
Agreed. But how many grains of sand are there in the universe?
Uhm. No clue.
So how do we know? In the grain sand versus stars battle, perhaps sand wins in the end.
So you’re saying there are more grains of sand, in the universe, than there are stars, in the universe.
I do not know! I am simply suggesting it is possible.
Well, all right, sure, it’s possible. But who cares?
Mark, dearling, who cares if there are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on Earth?
It’s just a cool thing.
And is it not cool to think that there are more grains of sand, throughout the universe than there are even stars?
I’m… not sure.
It is cool!
It’s less cool.
You have no vision. So here’s a question for you, are there more planets than sand?
Where’s the sand?
On Earth only.
Uhm. Possibly! Not every star has planets but those that do tend to have more than one, so…
That sounds even better. There are more planets in the universe than there are grains of sand.
That does sound pretty cool.
Of course those planets probably have sand…
All right! We agreed! More sand than anything.
The universe: More sand than anything.
That’s sort of sad, really.
No it isn’t! It means that above all else the universe is great with beach front property!
I hadn’t thought of it like that.
It’s what makes me a visionary.
It makes you something, all right.
