What do you mean?
I mean we need to talk.
We are talking. We were talking about moving in together.
Yeah but we should talk about something else.
Why do I not like where this is going?
Look, Jake, you know I think you’re one of my best friends, and…
Nuh-uh!
Huh?
I know this speech. You’re breaking up with me.
Well, no, I mean yes, but don’t get mad. Let me finish?
Fine. Sorry.
We’re such good friends, and the relationship end is… it’s fun but I feel like something is missing.
Yeah?
Yeah. Like we’re…
Forcing it?
Because both of us are afraid that if we pull the plug on it it’ll make everything go to hell?
Well, yeah, kind of. I mean, won’t it?
Why? We seem to be in the same boat! So why would we let it get awkward?
I don’t know, because that’s what happens?
Well I don’t see why it should. Though if we are in agreement it brings to mind one question.
Yeah?
Why were you suddenly angry before?
Because who wouldn’t be mad at being broken up with?
But you secretly wanted to end things too, right?
Not the point.
I think it is the point. Getting mad over something you want.
When you put it like that. No, I don’t know.
Anyway. So let’s not let it change anything?
Deal.
I mean next week is…
Yup, and if we were awkward at that, it would be a shame.
Friends?
Always.
Hooray!
Woohoo!
We’re broken up!
Huzzah!
Fweee!
We need help.
We totally do! Let’s get Chinese!
Yeah! Victory egg rolls!
The egg rolls of victory!
They shall be ours!
Yes! Yes, they shall!

Wooo! Victory egg rolls are the best!
And what’s this “I mean next week is…” thing Mel talks about? Something new? Something shiny? Something… (dare I say it?) awesome? Another two part story arc? Anyway, I’m sure it’ll be good.
No pressure or anything…

Something … Valentine’s Day-like?

Next week shall be seen… next week! Oh yes. I’ve been, quite honestly, waiting to write next week’s strips since I started this comic. Muahahaha!

Ah, if only it worked so well in life (all the time)… guy who broke up with me 15 years ago is still bitter. Because *he* broke up with *me*. I like Mel’s method much better!!

Well keep in mind they both wanted to, etc. I’ve had things happen just like this – and also very much not like this.

You don’t like egg rolls?
February 3rd, 2010 on 1:22 am
No, no I do not. They sound good and they look good but its like when the myth busters polished feces. It was shiny and smooth but it was still crap. Wow I did not realize how randomly insane that sounded until I wrote it down… oh well what’s done is done.
