Welcome to the very first Things Wrong With Me news post! These will happen when there is news of some sort. They’ll happen on Mondays. They will announce things of all sorts. So if you read the site by something other than RSS reader (or via LiveJournal, which is really used as an RSS reader …), check below Tuesday’s comic or hit the Complete Episode List dropdown to the right.

This news post will be a bit long and will discuss the following: site features, the creators want to sell you other stuff, Things Wrong With Me merchandise!

That’s a lot to cover, so let’s get right to it!

First of all since we’ve never really talked, you and I, let’s discuss some of the site’s features in case you missed something along the way.

Complete Episode List – There’s a drop-down to the right. Under the big RSS button. It has a scrolling complete list of episodes in order from newest to latest. It will even have these news posts. So there ya go.

Subscribe to comments – When you leave a comment on an episode you now have the option of clicking a check box (under the submit button) and getting email notifications when someone else responds to that comic. You can also go back and manage subscriptions to unsub to comics, and so on and so forth. Now you’ll know when someone has replied to you, if you want.

Prev/Next buttons – I feel this one should be obvious but I had at least one person not notice them. At the end of every episode are buttons to go to the previous or next episode (well, next if there is a next published) … yeah I thought it was easy to see. Your millage may vary.

And that covers the site stuff. So let’s move on to the pimping! Matteo Scalera doesn’t get nearly enough love here. Sure I write things here but his art on the heads, those priceless expressions are just … well … priceless. Well, if you like his work you can go to his blog, reply to an oldish entry and find out how to buy his art book I’m My Own Best Fan. Here’s the link if you’re interested. It’s 48 pages of awesome Matteo art and he’s do a sketch just for you in every book sold! I’d ask for a Green Arrow. He draws an amazing Green Arrow.

Also, if you like his art and my writing you might consider buying a copy of Popgun Volume 3. Matteo and I (co-writing with the ever-dance-happy D.J. Kirkbride) have a story called Agents of the W.T.F. in Care to dance, Papi? It’s 6 pages long, but the other 470+ pages of the book are also fantastic comics well worth your time.

If you like my writing at all I want to bother to pimp my own prose as well. I have a collection of weird and strange stories called Crazy Little Things, a big action/adventure type novel, all about a teenage girl with way too much power and large flaming wings named Strange Angel and you can pre-order my newest novel, a pop culture road trip of a beast named Stays Crunchy in Milk.

Thus ends the pimping of that stuff! Also, if you want to pimp this site here, in the About page there is a banner you can grab for just that purpose!

Now for the big one that I know you’ve all been waiting for! You can buy Things Wrong With Me Merch now! In the next week or so there will be a store page here on the site, but for now use that link and you can buy – well let me tell you:

A mug with any character, and any expression. (yes, a sad Sven mug, or happy Mel or whatever.) Also a cast mug.

A shirt with any character, and any expression. (yes, an angry Jacob shirt, or normal expression Natasha or whatever.) Also a cast shirt.

There are also two ties and a skateboard. Yes, seriously. Why? Why not. Here’s the store link a second time. Now please note Zazzle is having a sale until 12 midnight PST, Monday. 17.76% off all shirts. So go fast and buy stuff cheaper than normal.

Also in the next weeks and months we will be creating shirts and other items that are strip based, not character based. I mean sure, who doesn’t want a happy Melina head on a shirt (I do) but what if I told you we were considering Hobogatchi shirts, or, say … Ponycorn? Give us time to get things ready and I’ll announce them here when they happen!

Now, one last deathly important note about shirts and the site. When you first look at the site (look for product types so you can see everything!) you will notice all the shirts are the same gray ringer t-shirt. What about babydoll Ts? Or non-ringers? Or or or! You can get them! When you click into a specific shirt there is an option on the right of the site. I have draw a picture and added a circle and arrows to illustrate!

Click that “Select a different shirt style” link and you can change the type of shirt into all sorts of things. Hell you can even get baby onesies. Please don’t. But you could! No, really, don’t dress your baby up in Sven-wear, ok?
